Girls’ Rights and the Global Hunger Crisis

Client: Plan International

The Theme

This report emphasizes the importance of adopting a rights-based approach to addressing food crises and combating hunger, with a particular focus on safeguarding the rights of girls.

The 2022 Global Report on Food Crises (GRFC) revealed alarming statistics that demand immediate international action. In 2021, global hunger reached unprecedented levels, with nearly 193 million people across 53 countries facing acute food insecurity and requiring urgent assistance—an increase of 40 million compared to 2020.

The Process

The report was crafted using Adobe InDesign. The text, provided by Plan International, was complemented by carefully selected images from their extensive image bank. Following Plan’s visual guidelines, Doodlio designed the report from the ground up, ensuring consistency with the organization’s branding.

An initial draft of the full report was produced and sent for feedback. Based on input, we refined the text and replaced some photos with more suitable selections. The final deliverables included a web-optimized PDF, a print-ready PDF, and the complete InDesign file package for future use.

This was a project with a heavy theme that left the team at Doodlio feeling humbled by the critical nature of the work.

Doodlio also designed social media graphics to help promote the report and raise awareness of its findings.
